One of my favorite Windows apps, SQLyog, has gone open source in its new community edition. It's really a great piece of software, and is really a must-have when working with MySQL. I hope someone takes the source and makes it run on OS X. While the Community, free, edition is nice, I heartily recommend paying the measly $47 for the singe user Enterprise Edition. I'm glad I did. There's a nice interview with its developer, Rohit Nadhani at the MySQL site.

"If middle-class income had merely kept pace with economic growth, your $32,000 job would instead be paying you $52,000. But it's not. And the reason is that virtually all of the economic growth of the past three decades has been funneled into the pockets of the well-off, the rich, and the super-rich."
