Not content with showing the first season of Six Feet Under to Perth audiences instead of the second season that viewers in the rest of the country are watching, Channel 9 Perth substituted the third season of The Sopranos for the fourth season being shown in every other state of Australia. Just before the advertised episode of the advertised season at the advertised time, a voiceover announced that we would be seeing instead an encore season of the TV show.
I wonder what we have done to deserve this insult? By the way, the word encore is more commonly used to mean additional songs at live performances, not the same songs played all over again. Call this re-run season exactly that, Channel 9, a re-run, not an encore. Don’t obfuscate.
