Happenings
I'm back in London after a couple of days with my family in Sevenoaks.

I finally got to meet Stella, junior Dachshund, who is loverley. My digicam is hors de combat, or more accurately, mort, so I was depending on my sister-in-law's Canon dixital Ixus (digital Elf to you grits munchers), but that too is broken and away with Canon for some percussive maintenance. I had to use a film Ixus, so there will be a delay in spreading short-legged dog based cuteness.

My examination certificates turned up, due to an uncharacteristic fit of tidyness at some point in the past. Perhaps I was drunk.

The new home secretary is sticking with ID cards - despite the fact that I don't know anyone in this country who actually wants them
"The new home secretary, Charles Clarke, today rejected calls to reconsider plans for ID cards after Labour backbenchers suggested the departure of David Blunkett yesterday should prompt a rethink." [from plasticbag.org links for 2004-12-17]
