I met with CAWP Director Tom and Co-Director Barbara at Roosevelt U. for a planning meeting on the web site. We are working on better coordination.
No movement on blogs since they are not set up. Maybe that was good, since we worked on tech coordination and communication issues. We will work on utilizing better the computer facilities at Roosevelt U. I think we have to take the IT out for dinner and thank them for their cooperation and look at some new initiatives.

CPS and Manila/Radio About two weeks ago I talked with Denis Roarty from Chicaog Public Schools Learning Technology department about the possibility of using Manila and Radio for developing K-Logs and building learning communities within CPS with these relatively inexpensive tools. When I visited him, Denis was investigating the use of content and knowledge management systems. I sent an email over a week ago about working with them on this type of project. I haven't heard a peep. I know there are servers not being used or that can implement virtual hosting.

Here's an update on Dave. He just gave me a call. He sounds great but hoarse. Very upbeat. He was overwhelmed by the wonderful outpouring of support for his recovery. I expect that he will be back online this weekend. [John Robb's Radio Weblog]

Dave, Get Well Soon! Wishing Dave Winer a quick recovery from his illness The internet is bit more boring without his commentary. Dave is most often thoughtful and pro-people. Manila and most recently in Radio embody that faith in people. In the last two weeks, I came to the conclusion that Dave's scripting.com site doesn't bore and from my perspective is kept fresh by the synergy and energy of the end user community and the larger developer community. I guess it is because that he attracts folks who are about solving problems not just complaining about them. Scripting.com attracts folks who are about collaboration and to grab a saying from a fellow Illinoisan, and those who believe the site is a tool not a monument!
