I took some time this afternoon and implemented this tip. I've been thinking about doing this for some time, and the final step was creating a soft link from the .filename files to the files in my checked out folder.

There are 3 machines I use a lot: my powerbook, and two server machines. Now I have my environment identical from machine to machine. It feels really nice.
