In an attempt to show the real cost of the Bush war there were plans to have 1000 Coffins carried along the march route.
This display and with the dignity it was carried out set the larger group of Bushites completely off; how dare someone else besides themselves co-opt anything to do with the flag and troops and then carry it off with a solemnity that they couldn't even fathom.

Besides the flagged drapped coffins, this was the most poignant, another reminder of the cost of the Bush policies:

Some of the very few Bush supporters that were out. I am sure that they were paid as I cannot fathom why they would go up against 250,000 hot, tired anti-bush protestors. But they were there and even stupid people are entitled to their opinion. It is interesting choice of images and verses from the New Testament:
Peace I leave with you; my own peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid. John 14:27
Indeed, according to the Law, almost everything is made clean by blood; and sins are forgiven only if blood is poured out. Hebrews 9:22. The New Testament, Today's English Version ©American Bible Society 1971
There was one incident that I am aware of. We were stalled on Seventh Avenue in sight of The Garden and I received text messages that read: "Multipld reports fire set by maskd cops dressd in black. But rest of rally peaceful." (misspelling is product of sender, not typist).

Was at the bike arrests on Friday evening. It had the air of a carnival, but I think the cops thought of it as a dress rehearsal for the big show today. I did take some video (I am a better still photographer than a video person).
The NYPD had their own video people taking video of the crowd; NYPD video person #1. Here is another one NYPD video person #2.
I also took some video of some of the first bikers "perp walk."
