Little Boys With Their Lights And Sirens.
I work on 59th Street (Central Park South to the high and mighty). Every week the NYPD puts on a show; 20 to 30 radio cars come speeding up Sixth Avenue and park along the park wall. They pull up and back onto the sidewalk. They wait for 10 minutes and then go off one by one into the night with their sirens blaring and lights flashing. I suppose they will tell us they are practicing for something, antiterrorist something. But it seems so silly. It would be cheaper for the city if they just gave them all a shot of testosterone so they would not endanger the public, nor waste all this time and energy. They seem to be such little boys playing with their lights and sirens. Unfortunately they also have guns.
