Wow, I really hosed some things by using some extended ascii characters in the digital maps post. Of course, I couldn't get back to the post in Radio on my local machine to edit it because it was mangled. I could get to the one before and afterr but the mangled post's link brought up the previous post. FInally I noticed the urls at the bottom of the browser window (IE 5.1) skipped an increment. The offending characters that didn't get rendered correctly were ™ (opt-2) and an em-dash (opt-shift-hyphen) in case anyone is keeping track. FWIW, they rendered as an entity tilde and a division sign.

[PBS - NOVA] Neanderthals On Trial was excellent. Seemed to be a fairly even-handed presentation of the evidence, the personalities, and how archaeology (in this case, paleo-anthropology and human origins research) is done.

[Carto/Spatial] GPSy (TM) -- Digital Map Library: "This page lists all known available sources of digital maps on the Internet." I had completely forgotten about this resource from the folks at GPSy, who brought functional GPS to the Macintosh. thanks to James at Design Weenie for pointing it out
