After an evening of hacking, I've drawn the conclusion that the Java 1.4.0-beta3 VM is borked on Windows when it comes to non-blocking connects. It's unfortunate, because it forces me to make Marbles use blocking connects on the Windows platform so that I can get proper error messages out of the VM.

Well, I did it. I bought a copy of Radio 8.0.

Sigh.

It's about the only interesting piece of software on Windows that keeps me using Windows of late. Come-on, Dave, can't we get Radio on Linux? :)

COOL. Just got back from seeing new iMacs. It's bigger than I anticipated, but very speedy. The articulated monitor is pretty cool too, and crystal clear. There's a nifty little fan near the top of the base that pulls the air out of the case and expels it straight up. Overall, a slick little unit -- one which I would be proud to call my primary box. :)  1:40:10 PM  permalink

My parents spent some time in missionary training with the Burnhams. It's very strange to think that these people are being held hostage for a reason which most of us (Americans) take for granted -- religious freedom.

Is your child a hacker?

Hmm..guess I am. Bummer. :)

Good morning, weblog. Today should be a fun one -- some friends and I are going to the Apple store to take a look at the new IMac (if they have any).  7:12:19 AM  permalink
