I really wanted to post something witty and provocative here, but I'm too tired. Here's the deal. Starting the morning of March 8, I'm going to be offline, probably until the 17th. And probably very offline - no email, no blog, no news aggregator, no nothing. So to be on the safe side, let's just say I'll be back on the 17th, with a small to slim chance that I'll be able to post something here and there until then.

If you're waiting for an email response from me, that will have to wait until the 17th, too. Sorry. Thanks for stopping by, and I promise I'll be back!

I used Jon's script to display on the right-hand side which RSS feeds I subscribe to. It's a nifty little feature, and it never occurred to me that I wouldn't want to do it. Think of it as automatic blogrolling!

So I documented it in case you want to add it yourself. I updated the instructions because Jon figured out how to get the blog title to link to the URL for the site rather than the RSS feed. Therefore, if you added the code yesterday, you'll want to re-copy it for subs.txt and then re-post it.

Many more thanks to Jon!

The Universe Is Not Turquoise - It's Beige

"In January, the true colour of the Universe was declared as somewhere between pale turquoise and aquamarine, by Ivan Baldry and Karl Glazebrook at John Hopkin's University in Baltimore Maryland.

Glazebrook now says the true colour this data gives is closer to beige. 'I'm very embarrassed,' he says, 'I don't like being wrong.' " [New Scientist, via MeFi]

Interesting discussion about wireless and public libraries. I should have delved deeper in my own commentary, but I was in a hurry when I posted it. If you haven't already done so, make sure you read through the comments. Maybe we can restart this discussion in a couple of weeks.

This link is for Tom as he continues evaluating blogging's potential.  :-)
