INTERactive Systems Corporation
INTERactive Systems
had a re-union last weekend.
It was the very first company to sell a supported version of
Unix. Started in the mid-1970's, eventually split in half
(in the early 1990's, I think) with half going to Sun, to create
and support the Intel versions of Solaris.
I worked there for 2.5 years, from 1979 to 1981. I remain in
fairly close contact with at least a dozen of the people I knew
from then. Remarkable group of people! I was surprised not to
find a brief summary/history of the company out there somewhere
on the web.
