There was definite progress in the last 24 hours! On Thursday night I spent about 5 hours to setup my new DVD/TV system. Centered around a Pioneer 503 (http://www.pioneer-eur.com/products/home) Plasma TV ( is a set of ELAC speaker (http://www.elac.com/en/index.html CL518, CL 310, 555, 501ESP), a Yamaha AX3200 (http://www.yamaha.com/cgi-win/webcgi.exe/DsplyModel/?gAVR00010RX-V3200) is supposed to create enough power to scare the cat, and the Arcam DVD (http://www.laserdiscarchive.co.uk/arcam_dvd/arcam_dv-27/arcam_dv-27.htm )is supplying the right input data. As I said before, unpacking, wiring and then getting the first DVD to play (and being able to listen to it), took about 5 hours. The result is well worth it, I think it even impressed my wife.

This morning I spent some time trying to connect the XBox, with no success. In one of the remaining N (= many) boxes are the Monster cable I bought on my last US trip, no luck without them.

My office is also finally taking shape. I am writing this on my desk, with an ISDN internet connection. Not great connectivity, but sufficient to work efficiently. I was a little bit optimistic that I would be back at work by the mid of this week, but I think I am out of the woods and can be productive again.

Another positive event today - here in Germany it is a holiday. Easter is kind of a big thing, the Friday is a holiday and Monday too. A long 4 day weekend ... I guess Mike Deem is collapsing while reading this, but I promise I will spent some time doing some MS related work over the long weekend!
