research for name of reasonably senior person or CEO send a direct letter (snail mail) to this person using some unique aspect of the company found on their website or a recent news article about the firm  indicate to them that I will call and seek to set an appointment to meet with them in an informal setting (coffee, drink after work, quick lunch, etc.); the purpose of the meeting to explore their impressions and experiences with "intellectual capital management - knowledge management" principles applied to IT projects and added profitability to the firm -- meeting to be 15 to 20 minutes.  focus on listening during the meeting while expressing my own experiences at Shared Medical Systems as an internal Knowledge Management Consultant / Business Analyst servicing some 400 remote strategic consultants' knowledge needs to share best practices, business templates, and effective work flows. let them know that I am looking for a career position without asking for job; ask if they are aware of any upcoming opportunities where my passion for Knowledge Management and broad business background could be applied within their firm or elsewhere. 11:23:22 AM    trackback []     Articulate []
