Malaysia's ASTRO Picks Up 26.01 Per Cent In Hungama TV For $7 Million. Malaysian broadcaster ASTRO has picked up a stake of 26.01 per cent in Hungama TV, an Indian channel for kids in Hindi from UTV. The investment is said to be $7 million, valuing the company at $27 million, according to Indiantelevision.com. Malaysian media company ASTRO has been active on the Indian media front for sometime. First, they picked up stake in Red FM, owned by the India Today Group, along with NDTV and Hyderabad-based infotech company Value Labs. I am wondering why there is not much of action on the kids properties on the Internet. I am sure, many of you would have heard of Pitara.com, a site for kids and parents. But I haven't seen much buzz around them, while Internet is happening on every other front. [ContentSutra] 1:50:08 PM ![]() |
