iPod Watch Concept: Please Go Into Production. ![]()
This iPod watch concept, given the name iWatch by its designer, Peter Burns, combines—you guessed it!—an iPod and a wristwatch in one saucy little package. The iWatch has (well, is envisioned as having) 10GB of storage and users would then listen to the music with a pair of Bespoke Bluetooth headphones. Not much else is known about the iWatch other than the fact that it looks amazing. Hopefully someone with deep pockets will give its designer some support.

Mobile Internet Dead - and why Wibro will fail commercially. My article "The Mobile Internet should be pronounced dead" drew the full gamut of responses, including raddedas of TECHYPE who said that he "thought it one of the best pieces I've read in a long time - so good I didn't blog about it because I couldn't think of much useful to add". There was a lot of interest in Mike Gauba's comments. Gauba has an even more radical and alarming prognosis for WiBro in Korea because of his view that the Internet and Mobile Commerce are in fact reverse paradigms - he predicts it will fail. CDMA exodus. After Reliance Communications, the smaller CDMA-based telecom operators also want to migrate from CDMA to GSM and have started applying for GSM spectrum. Punjab-based HFCL Infotel Ltd has sent an application to the department of telecommunications (DoT), while Rajasthan-based Shyam Telelink Ltd is planning to do so shortly. Both the companies have a unified access service licence (UASL) and are eligible for providing services of technology of their choice.
Since there is no national roaming pact among CDMA mobile operators, single circle operators, like HFCL, are not able to provide roaming to their subscribers, which is a big handicap. Shifting to GSM would solve the problem.
