Steven Harper won the conservative party nomination on the first ballot. I can't say i'm overjoyed about this, I still see Harper as linked to the old Alliance party, which is not going to be good for the conservatives in Quebec. Virtually all the Quebec ridings went to Stronach, with the notable exception of Montreal.
