2003 Denver Mayoral Transition
Update: The chat is Friday afternoon not Thursday as reported on Gil Asakawa's blog.
Yesterday on his weblog Gil Asakawa wrote, "Here's how cool the Internet is: You can connect directly with celebrities and people in positions that you nromally would never be able to talk to. It's possible because of online chats, and DenverPost.com is proud to bring you these interactive opportunities. We're just getting started with our chats, but we've already booked a good one for this Thursday: Mayor John Hickenlooper, the businessman-from-nowhere-turned-political-winner." Here's the link to the Denver Post Chat site. I'll be there, Gil and John, look for the handle CoyoteGulch. Oh yeah, I'll take a late lunch that day so I'm not goofing off on the job.
The Mayor promised during the election that his would be a different, more open, administration. I'm pretty sure that no Denver official has ever met with constituents in a public chat room. 
Update: The chat application does not work in Safari. I created my account there but ... I'm using Mozilla for the Mac for the chat this afternoon.
I tested logging in and creating an account with Safari on my Mac and Mozilla on my Linux box. The app seems to work in both environments. Thanks for showing an inclusive attitude Post. Gil, lose the "Hickzonner" and "Hick" nicknames. They're disrespectful. I hope the mayor doesn't choose one of them as his chat handle.
