2008 Presidential Election
Josh Marshall thinks that Bernard Kerik's abrupt departure as the nominee at Homeland security will hurt Rudy Giuliani's presidential chances in 2008. He is quotes an article from Newsday, "The short, disastrous nomination of Bernard Kerik ended with a whimper and may have ended Rudolph Giuliani's Teflon period -- a three-year stretch when his status as 'America's Mayor' largely obscured his own shortcomings and the foibles of close associates."
Pointing to the same article Ed Cone wonders, "Could somebody explain to me, real slow and in small words, how an acerbic, pro-choice, pro-gay-rights pol who went through a messy public divorce is going to get the GOP nomination anyway?" Heh.
Update: Blogs for Bush: "Is John McCain using steroids in baseball as his champion issue to put himself at the front of the line for a 2008 presidential bid?"
