Denver November 2004 Election

Update: Josh Marshall writes about today's redistricting decision.

Update: The Colorado State Supreme Court threw out last spring's redistricting plan, according to the Rocky Mountain News [December 1, 2003, "Colo. court: Redistricting unconstitutional". From the article, "In a decision with national implications, the Colorado Supreme Court threw out the state's new congressional districts today, saying the GOP-led Legislature redrew the map in violation of the state constitution. "

The talk of the town will now be: What will Mark Udall do?. I see that Dave Thomas is going up against Bob Beauprez. Any Jefferson County election weblogs out there?

I just found out that the Denver Decides website is still up on DenverGov.

The Scientific and Cultural Facilities people should download this software and set up their website for the November Election. The software is DeanSpace (Who thinks up these names?) and is the Open Source implementation of campaign software. Weblogs (of course), static pages, e-mail lists, etc. Community based development on open source PHP. Dean's website is running Apache on FreeBSD.

The sales tax for the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District will be up for renewal by the voters next November. Here's an editorial from the Rocky Mountain News [November 30, 2003, "Cultural district fit for renewal"] in support of the tax. I remember Mayor Hickenlooper voicing his support for the district during the election.
