AOL Lost . . . and Regained? "Known for his playful imagination, Mr. Leonsis was an early proponent of the future of interactive media. He played an important role in the development of America Online and remains close to AOL Time Warner's chairman, Stephen M. Case. In the mid-1990's, Mr. Leonsis led AOL Studios, an effort to create online programming that included Entertainment Asylum, which provided news about Hollywood; and Digital Cities, which is an online guide.

AOL Studios was pushed aside in favor of selling other companies the right to furnish content for America Online. People close to Mr. Miller have said he plans to revive the effort to create programming, especially for high-speed connections." AOL's home page to the home page of Time Warner Cable. You get the impression that AOL is a Yahoo you have to pay for. Any cable company's site is a marketing tool to entice you to sign up for content.
