NPR Weblog Scheme Floated To Scott Hanley
Now 30 hours ago, I'm still realing from a major downer caused by the realization that I had no recorded copy of my Scott Hanley interview on Thursday night last. Equipment failure. I'll tell more when I've got it handled on my side and what's next in the recorded history of the live show.
Talking to Scott Hanley was excellent, though. I would like to talk to him some more. About ideas for tieing weblogs to NPR, NPR Jazz, IAJE. Find out when he's going to start his weblog. Help him start his weblog. Help him tie weblogs to NPR, like Salon Blogs.
Imagine NPR Listener Bloggers. Offering their comments on in-progress (and archive) shows, posting to their blogs about what they are hearing, seeing the blogs change before your eyes, a click away. Imagine taking it a step farther.
Imagine taking it into Multi-Media Weblogging. And the latest dance craze, Mobile Weblogging aka Moblogging. Make it possible for a blogger to post a link an "audio quote" from an NPR story. That links to the full audio story on the NPR website. That provides the listener the means to easily publish to the world their commentary on individual NPR pieces. That provides me with content for being the host of the NPR Blogs. Hosting a live show on Thursday nights from San Diego mixing the Newest Jazz Music with the probably extrodinary knowledge of NPR listeners. NPR listeners like Doc Searls. Visionary weblog activators like Technorati's David Sifry.
And now that I've gotten that off my chest...boy shuffles in, crawls on lap, and the serious work begins. I'll expand on this when possible and flesh out the recording fiasco...ugh..had forgetten about it for a few minutes. Kid Birthday Party mid-day and Adult Birthday Dinner tonight, Happy Birthday Madison and Barb!! The Producers last night was good too. Too much to write about. Must be a pretty exciting life!!
