"House and Senate members supported by the Attorney General's office are proposing acts regulating commercial e-mail or "SPAM." These proposals being offered to the Legislature would provide basic protection from these annoying e-mails. The legislation would regulate "SPAM" e-mails where the sender and recipient do not have a prior relationship. In these situations unsolicited SPAM may be sent if it is clearly recognizable as an advertisement while unopened, and if an option to not receive future SPAM is included. More than half the states in the nation have already passed some type of law regulating SPAM." [ Daily News Transcript]
