C'est vrai que les présentations PowerPoint ont tendance à être beaucoup trop linéaires... Quand j'ai voulu présenter quelque chose d'un peu complexe, j'ai décidé d'utiliser Livemotion...

Une note qu'on entend peu dans les medias américains... Tiré des lettres de lecteurs envoyées suite à un article qui penchait plutôt dans le sens traditionnel (longues files d'attente, éuipements et technologie désuets...). Attention, l'accès à certains articles du site du NYT demandent peut-être de s'inscrire... mais c'est gratuit (et ça vaut la peine).

Re "Long Lines Mar Canada's Low-Cost Health Care" (news article, Feb. 13):

It's time to distinguish between an imperfect health care system and no health care at all. I am an American living in Montreal, where last year my husband and I needed two surgeries, four emergency room visits, radiation and chemotherapy, nuclear medicine cardiology and assorted tests. Our care was timely, compassionate, comparable to care in the United States — and free.

Back home, we paid outrageous insurance rates for uncertain coverage that excluded any care we were actually likely to need. Our Quebec friends cannot comprehend the notion of "pre-existing conditions" or "denial of payment," and we've come to view the American health care system as backward and discriminatory.

The philosophical choices are telling: the United States provides optimal care for a few, no care at all for many; Canada provides good care for all its people.

The Feb. 13 news article about the Canadian health care system, while noting its low cost, implies that the system is also of low quality. But according to data from the World Health Organization, the Canadian system outperforms the American system on all major measures — longer life expectancy, longer healthy life expectancy, lower child and adult mortality.

Canada accomplishes this at a per capita cost that is 40 percent lower than the cost in the United States. As for the "long lines" in Canada, I am sure they could be eliminated if Canada were to do as the United States does and disenfranchise a large portion of the population, thus easing access for those who can afford to pay. Most Canadians would consider such action unethical.

While Canadians (I am one) may complain about lines from time to time, and improvement is certainly possible, few would be willing to trade their health care system for the American system.

Je viens de m'apercevoir que eStat, le service gratuit de compteurs pour sites personnels, avait remplacé son icône pour une autre, animée, pointant vers un site de jeu en ligne...

C'est l'bout' d'la m&%$#?!! !! Je déconnecte. Je retourne à Xiti , ou encore à Site Meter... même si les fonctions de rapports sont un peu moins évoluées... Je me passerai de compteur s'il le faut !!

"Je désire fermer mon compte E-stat, je vais retirer les codes et appels à votre site... En installant une icône e-stat sur mon site je ne pensais pas devenir un relais publicitaire pour cette plaie du jeu en ligne. De tels procédés confinent à la mauvaise foi."
