Gordon Weakliem: REST vs. SOAP... Each of these battles has the sides well dug in, though the resistance from the non-adopters seems to be stronger than the push from the early adopters. Careful... make sure that you count for the large contingent of people who are simply focused on getting their job done.

Kimbro: "Had XML Schema been done in 1998, we would not have done SOAP," So then why do we need SOAP now then? I was at the keynote... Don's answer to this question was extensibility; more specifically, the ability to add headers.

Tim Ewald: Things I wish I could do
- Have long-lived message exchanges without holding connections open
- Send event notifications back to clients
- Use SOAP intermediary to send messages through DMZ
- Provide security for messages sent through multiple nodes
