Links for 2005-12-03. Capital University, a pioneer in hands-off student blogging, has launched their new website redesign, which features student blogs and an RSS feed prominently on the home page. Thanks goes to Bob Robertson-Boyd for sharing the news.
Michael M. Crow, Arizona State University President, has launched a blog. I am interested to see how often he will post to the blog, and how quickly comments are followed up. (It was a good idea to tell readers how he expects to moderate comments.) The first (and so far only) post sets some lofty expectations:
If you walk away from reading an entry with a better understanding of how your university works, an interesting idea to ponder or an opportunity to share something on your mind, then the blog will have fulfilled its goal.
Charlie Melichar, Colgate VP of PR and Communications, blogs about the continued importance of print media in (I’m assuming) reaching prospective students, a fitting counterpoint to Karine Joly’s post that picks up on the Business Week piece The MySpace Generation.
Connecticut College, which recently launched several RSS feeds (covered earlier on these pages), has added an orange RSS icon to the home page (lower left). Clicking the icon leads to an Office of College Relations RSS page explaining RSS and how to use it.
