News.Com: Apple to unveil digital music device. Apple spokeswoman Natalie Sequeira confirmed that the event was taking place but would not discuss the product. Apple apparently is not planning to introduce a portable MP3 player, but something more sophisticated such as a component for a home digital stereo system, sources said. [Tomalak's Realm]

A bold move. A good move? We'll see. It's not exactly their area of expertise. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

How to run Frontier scripts from Apple's Script menu. [mac.scripting.com]

Apple's Dirty Little Secret (15-Oct-2001; 7.5K) [TidBITS]
A fine article from matt neuberg in which he not only exhorts us to contact Apple about their frustrating Open and Save dialogues, but lets slip some great keyboard shortcuts for OS X. I'm starting to get really excited about this OS.

BBC Proms sees audience grow. Gramophone Oct 16 2001 8:43PM ET [Arts and culture news]
Amazing. Everywhere else you look classical music appears to be on life-support. What's their secret? I wish CBC Radio had a similar series.
