Please bring on the strike.  I can't take in anymore. The Cubs suck.  More, if you look at the top active home run hitters in the major league, the Cubs have two of the top four in the line up every day and still can't hit their way out of a paper bag.

Lawrence says "Your news page will use the default main template".  Works great and I am reading the news with much more pleasure now.
You have to love the guys at Userland.  I post a simple question and get an answer a couple hours later.  How many places can you get support like that on the weekend ?

  6:35:33 PM
Now I need to be able to change the Radio news aggregator font size, I don't see a template for this....hmmmm....we must be able to customize this also ??

I was going to fix mine the last time Scott brought it up, it never happened, now it's done.  Fix your blog so that we don't need a magnifying glass to read it.  Here is a direct link to dive into mark Day 26 Using realative font sizes - Why I'm Not Reading Your Blog and Why Others May Not Be Also [via The FuzzyBlog!].

The D family of kittens are now available for adoption here in Foster Paradise.  This is the cutest bunch of little black kittens you've ever seen.  Duncan, Dixie, Delilah, Darla and Duey.

On a cold an gray Chicago mornin', a poor little baby child is born, in the ghetto......I remember swapping one of my treasured 45s (10CC Rubber Bullets if I remember correctly) for a copy of Burning Love.  This places me pretty well at the end of his career.  Many years later dug back and grew to love a lot of old Elvis stuff after catching on to one song......I think it was Suspicious Minds in a Richard Gere flick where Elvis comes up on the soundtrack as he jumps in the shower with his costar.  A quick google says it was Breathless in 1983 and shower mate Valerie Kaprisky.

Where were you when The King died? [via Scripting News]

Hmmmm.......as I remember I was about 13 or so and doing my daily job (wow, employed none the less), babysitting my mother's friends two children after they came home from school until their mom came home from work.  This was one single mom helping another single mom by renting out the oldest kid to take care of her younger boys.  I remember watching TV late afternoon, probably about the time Rockfish came on.  Remember this ? They cut in and somehow I remember much being said about him dying in the bathroom by the toilet.  Why this sticks in my head I'll never know.
I remember the two boys vividly cause one of them was a little kookie, he came at me with a saw once when he was not pleased at not getting his way.  I don't think he liked Rockfish.  I chuckle now but remember it being quite a challenge to get the saw out of this little knucklehead's hands.  The baseball bat never bothered me and I was quite practiced at getting this from him.  The teeth on that saw was completely another thing.

I like this idea -  Computer Sciences Seeks Leaves With Pay. The Computer Sciences Corporation, the computer-services company, said that it would ask its 66,000 workers to volunteer to take at least six months' leave with 20 percent pay. By Bloomberg News. [New York Times: Technology]

And I'd have a TiVo or Replay machine by now if not for the aforementioned  problem: About 8 Million [American] job seekers are vying for 3.5 million jobs.

I don't think I've ever gotten a good chance to rant on Echostar's pathetic quality (note the software is written by Microsoft so what should I expect). The DishPlayer that I have which has "Personal TV" features which is their version of TiVo/Replay/DVR is the most defect laden piece of consumer electronics  I have ever purchased. I should point out this this is a lot of stuff <g>. This sucker reboots itself at least once a day and has for about 6 months now.  It drops programs it has recorded and wanders off into never never land until you pull the power cord regularly.  Hmmm....this is kind of like my Windows machine <G>

Every month or two I call up and give them a razzing and they give us a free month of service - 10 States Investigate EchoStar Practices. [via New York Times: Technology]

Motorola at its finest.  The problem here is this is a Motorola proprietary with no competition and therefore stagnant feature set and little need for quality -  Marketing 101: Anti Customer Technology = Anti Marketing. [via The FuzzyBlog!]

"This time the data suggests that millions couldn't get a job even if they moved, upgraded their skills or took a job they once thought beneath them, says Jeffrey Wenger, an economist with with the labor backed Economic Policy Institute."
