Handspring has announced they are switching from their Springboard modules to the Secure Digital expansion slot design. Previously they had announced they would drop the Visor line altogether. The idea of a propriety expansion slot promoted by a small company never did make much sense. 11:41:20 PM

The New York Times (reg. required) covers an attack by American soldiers on friendly Afghan troops that killed three. While the article mentions some other American blunders in Afghanistan no mention of the friendly fire deaths of Canadian troops after a US pilot bombed them. 11:27:45 PM

Recently USA Today and other newspapers had articles on Israeli projects to build a security fence to keep terrorists from the West Bank out of Israel. Some people applaud the move as the first step towards defining a border between Israel and an Palestinian state. Others oppose it, some for the same reason, and some because they claim Palestinians should be allowed to enter Israel freely. 11:15:11 PM

The Canadian Government and the Government of Ontario have announced a deal in which many museums and other cultural sites in Toronto will receive government funds for building expansions and renovations. The Royal Ontario Museum will be using their money to build a giant iceberg-like addition. 11:02:43 PM
