markpasc.blog: "Unfortunately, I'm on Windows, so it's not terribly clear how I go about generating a PEM."

I have cygwin installed and that includes OpenSSL binaries and the all important openssl command. There is also a need to generate DH keys which requires yet another program, also available on cygwin.

Running inside cygwin you can follow the instructions at the stunnel cert page to generate stunnel.pem. Another message describing an approach talks about generating a .pem file to communicate with outlook but the steps are the same.

Scripting News: "Back to hole digging. An RFC for a callback for Radio's firewall."

Dave's response to my query about using stunnel and SSL to access Radio Userland remotely. I'll have a try of the approach and see if it works for me. I'm a little unsure of exactly what the script I add as a callback should do to ensure an authentication failure. I'm guessing that it'll have to always raise an authentication failure if no authentication credentials exist. This should result in the username/password request appearing and then things will work fine. Once I test this I'll get back to Dave regarding the RFC if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
