Part three of my description of a modal web server demonstrates how you can take a standard console based application and with minimal changes convert it into a simple web based application.

Part two of my modal web server example is up. The changes include handling HTML form results and talking about the post, redirect, get pattern.

Patrick Logan prefers "continuation-based" and Avi outlines the reasoning behind the term "Modal". I like continuation-based too and will continue to use it, but it's a mouthful to say all the time when selling products. Modal is short, and tends to be easier for people to understand, rather than immediately giving up on ever understanding continuations. In fact, I know people who refuse to even look at continuation based web frameworks simply because of thinking that continuations are too esotoric for real world use. Maybe with "Modal" they can learn that they're not so hard to understand after all.
