From Lambda the Ultimate: Breve
is a free software package which makes it easy to build 3D simulations
of decentralized systems and artificial life. Users define the
behaviors of agents in a 3D world and observe how they interact. breve
includes physical simulation and collision detection so you can
simulate realistic creatures, and an OpenGL display engine so you can
visualize your simulated worlds.

Slate 0.3 has been released. This is the native C version, with the Common Lisp version no longer supported. Slate is a language which looks similar to Smalltalk but uses a prototype based object system with multi-method dispatch.

Steve Dekorte, author of the Io Programming Language, has released TwinDB.
This is an embedded key/value database based on BerkeleyDB. It adds
security from database corruption on top of the non-transactional
version of BerkeleyDB. Licensed under the Revised BSD license.
