The conflict in the Middle East is heavy on my mind. To me the issue fundamentally boils down to two things. First Israel must withdraw completely and unconditionally from any territories not part of it's original borders. Second, Palestinians displaced by the original creation of the Israeli state must give up the idea of returning to lands within Israel. While these compromises wouldn't resolve the hate that permeates the very air the protagonists breathe, I believe it represents the fundamental basis for peace so long sought.
