Finding: Billions in Online Bookings In 2002, online bookings accounted for 9% of total hotel room sales (up from only 2% in 1999). Hotel sites now attract 51% of the $6.3 billion in online bookings (2002), the remainder going to online travel agents such as Hotels.com and Expedia.
