Making Outlook play nice

Chris Petrilli posted about Why Outlook sucks and while I don't use an Exchange Server I share his frustrations with Outlook. Part of the problem is that the defaults for Outlook simply don't work well with other email clients. I suggest opening the Options dialog (under the Tools menu) then clicking on the Mail Format tab to make sure your emails are sent in Plain Text.

Then click the Preferences tab and click on the E-mail Options... button to set your options for "When replying to a message"

Like Word and Excel there are countless settings buried in dialogs within dialogs that you will need to explore.
