Bush Declares Judiciary 'Crisis' [washingtonpost.com]. Bah. Throw out all the kooks and freaks Little George proposes. Look what happened when you let stinking Ashcroft through: our security is at risk because this complete bozo is in office. Justice is important. No more bozos.

The "war on terrorism" is even more comically stupid than our recently-demised war on communism. All this fuss is really about a blank check to pay billions to Cheney's Halliburton and others, and to whack anybody Little George and Condi see fit. (Oops: Venezuela.)
There are bad guys in the world. There is greed, hatred, and power-mongering. Unfortunately, these evils are the pillars of the Republican party. Besides the evils they initiate, they provoke further evils.
The first answer is not to do evil, and the second is not to provoke evil. This is our ticket to security. If we want peace and prosperity, then we go ahead and promote justice and freedom and prosperity for everyone. All of this is within reach for most of the planet. The prosperity is our only hope to rescue the environment.

Meanwhile, Jon Udell [oreillynet.com] finds that bloggers have discovered backlinks. That's nice. It's what I love about America. Stuff that anybody who ever thought about it thought was extremely important becomes important when the people who never thought about it figure it out. Put it another way: there are essential elements, that just *will* come out. Americans may not think far ahead, but we are irrepressible.
