Microsoft's code is so bad, it's a threat to national security, according to Jim Allchin, the top Windows guy at Microsoft.
He says it's a problem if you release the source code. Anybody who isn't completely stoned will tell you that "security through obscurity" is no security at all. If there are security holes that threaten national security, keeping the source code private doesn't prevent exploits. Keeping source code private is only a matter of public relations.
In other words, if you are concerned about national security, drop Microsoft products as fast as you can, and replace them with known-to-be-secure products.
