AppleScript 1.8.2b3 for Mac OS 9 and X now available

In a post to Apple's AppleScript related mailing lists, Chris Espinosa, of the AppleScript development team, announces that AppleScript 1.8.2b3 for Mac OS 9 and X is now available. He states...

"Thank you all for your feedback on the Beta 1 release of AppleScript 1.8.2 for Mac OS 9 and X. We have now prepared the last Beta release and will be working towards a Final version in the coming weeks."

"If you are willing to test Beta software, please download the Beta 3 release from http://connect.apple.com using your Apple ID. Release notes are downloadable separately so you can see if the changes in this Beta release apply to you or address your issues."

Mac developer StimpSoft closes its doors [MacNN]

This makes me sad. One of my favorite StimpSoft applications is Albert. Albert is a nifty little application that can launch AppleScripts by sending it an email.

You can still download all StimpSoft applications from the web site.

Thanks for some great stuff John Schilling. I wish you happiness and success!

iTunes watcher v1.1 available

iTunes watcher, an AppleScript Studio application from Fungible Software, allows you to find out what's playing in iTunes without having to bring up its window or click in the Dock. It helps to reduce window clutter, uses almost zero processor time, has no Dock icon (it's a background process), is resizable and can be minimized to the Dock.

AppleScript Pro Sessions scheduled for Monterey, California

"Once again, Shane Stanley of Melbourne, Australia, and Ray Robertson of Atlanta will be leading AppleScript Pro Sessions, this time in beautiful Monterey, California, May 13-17, 2002. Along with the new venue, they have expanded the course by a day to allow more in-depth coverage of AppleScript. The courses will follow the successful formula used last yeardaily sessions, followed by bonus demonstrations of relevant software, plus the ever-popular door prize drawings. We will also feature some very special guests, including Mark Alldritt of Late Night Software."
