Woz invents the spidey-tracer

Wozniak Unveils WozNet [Slashdot]

I've been waiting for someone to come out with a lo-jack for everything. Once mesh networks and location-tracking makes ordinary property theft prohibitive, even crime-ridden American cities could start deploying things like community bicycles.

Now I'm not holding my breath, but imagine a car-less city center with commmunity-owned Segways. I'm dreaming, I know... but I'm guessing that the economics might stack up pretty well against the our current car and mass-transit based systems. (c.f. Boston's Big Dig: $14 Billion and counting)
