10 Years of VC++
As the end of the Everett product cycle approaches, our management held a product unit meeting this afternoon. The theme was "Happy 10th Birthday" to VC++. We got congratulated for our hard work on Everett and saw some demos of early work on future product features. I was really amazed at some of the demos, which covered all areas of the product (IDE, Compiler, Libraries).
They gave us all tee shirts with the obligatory "we rule" slogan (this time it was "My Compiler Compiled Yours."). At the end of the event, some folks from our internal newsletter (MicroNews) wanted to interview folks that have been on the team for longer than 5 years. They corralled me to talk for a few minutes about some VC++ history. I wonder if I'll actually show up in the story...
