Rory Perry's Weblog Law, technology, and the courts Finding the good stuff in the pirate's nest My town also has a pirate's nest, which is frequented weekly by my wife, who makes pots in the studio out back while listening to the books on tape she finds there. Until last week I had never listened to a full audio book. I have caught a passage or two in the studio while hauling glaze buckets or something, but I like live readers, and the passages I heard all seemed to have a disconnect between the audio voice and the written voice. But last weekend I took the plunge, occasioned by my ten-hour drive to New Haven for the Revenge of the Blogs conference.
Which audio book got me hooked? This one, New York City chef Tony Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly." Unabridged, read by the author using the real kitchen biz patois. Good stuff. And now I'll never order fish on Monday. 5:04:21 PM [Permanent Link]
