On a whim... although I expect to revise it more than once before it is finished, I posted the first part of "Where the Books Are" to Ikoly (The Buffy/Willow mailing list fic archive.)
(I was going to put it on the Wiffy-Dreamverse fic archive since that is where the idea came from but when I clicked on the "New Story" option up popped a note saying crossovers aren't allowed (which wasn't mentioned in their FAQ as far as I could tell. Too bad. Guess I won't be putting any fics there any time soon. I've only got one fic in my collection that is completely crossover free and this isn't it.)
So... given the number of reviews... which are all favorable... 50% of them express the opinion that part 1 ended too abruptly.
I'll need to think about that. And how/whether to fix it. (Note: the version here is currently 61 words longer -- all at the very end -- and probably will get even longer while I work thru this issue.)
The transition to the next part isn't too smooth right now. Partly because, when I finished it, I was already working on part three but part 2 for some reason had me stumped.
Part 2 is really an extension of part 1. But I felt the need to split it up. Each part shouldn't be more than 3000 words. I don't want to have 6-8K word chapters/parts to be the norm... I've already go one fic like that. Makes it a bit daunting to work on. Makes me want to write other things instead...
