Wow that sounds amazing. My first Skype call was to Dina in India with her on dialup. I was stunned at just how far the technology has come since the last time I tried. The sound quality is very good but it still feels a touch like a walkie talkie mode. Still I'm a believer in this Skype thing.
Skype Conference Calls.
Here's some great news for all Skype fans - they have conferencing calls enabled now - upto five people can talk simultaneously from anywhere in the world.
Stuart, who introduced me to Skype, hosted a brief call last night to test it out - was really neat - very clear sound and no disturbance at all - there were 2 people in California, 1 person in France and me in India. For more details, experiences and perspectives on this disruptive technology and its potential in an "always on" world, read his recent posts on the subject.
Am dreaming .... now that one of my wishes has been fulfilled, i have another dream that wants this technology on a small handset, mobile and off the PC, so i could be 'always on' as i will, just about anywhere !
And then another dream of seeing this technology integrated into collaboration spaces and social networks ....
