Took the day off so that I could get to Atlantic City early, for antiques and hacking without an Internet connection (worse than television, argh).

Still packing. Should’ve done that last night. Argh.

I seem to have lost all digital copies of my commonplaces file, but I do have a version ca. 1999 in hardcopy. Don’t relish typing it all in. Need to put in the Mark Helprin truth quote.

Going through papers:

“Fate? Fate is just what you call it when you don’t know the name of the person screwing you over!”

—Lois, Malcolm in the Middle

Later, after she’s found out where Francis is:

“Let’s see what fate has in store for Francis!”
