"In less than a year"

Small Times. IBM spokesman at nanotech conference (another strong indicator of acceleration):

Kelly also said he thought carbon nanotubes would find their way into semiconductor devices sooner rather than later. "When I was here last year, I said that carbon nanotubes were 10 to 20 years off," he said. "The progress the world has made in only a year has really surprised me."  He cited research at IBM and elsewhere that has advanced from producing single nanotube transistors to building working circuits in less than a year.

Chances are

N.Y. lottery numbers drawn: 9-1-1 [Google News]

For a number with three digits, 0 through 9, picked every day, this should occur at least once somewhat more often than every three years. However, no one is reporting about how often this happens.

A single value of a random sequence cannot differentiate between causality and coincidence. So get over it.

Riding the Rambus out of town

Intel dropping Rambus for workstations. CNET Sep 11 2002 7:15PM ET [Moreover - moreover...]
