John Entwistle, Bass Player for the Who, Dies at 57. John Alec Entwistle, whose precisely articulated bass lines provided the unswerving foundation of the Who, died on Thursday in Las Vegas. By Jon Pareles. [New York Times: Arts] I've never been a big Who fan, except for the obvious list of early singles, but Entwistle was a kickass player and apparently a pretty nice guy.
