Blue sky. Deer sausage at breakfast. Egg and cheese tacos. Presents from under the tree in the morning with the boy. A garden still producing greens. Yellow blossoms on the rose bush. Yellow-breasted Lesser Finches picking at seed heads on wild sunflowers left standing in the back. Conversations with cousins. Warm temperatures. Jogging in the sun at the lake. Cozy dog wrapped up in his blanket in the evening. Hot apple pie. A good game of Scrabble. Comfy chairs and books to read.
It was altogether merry and bright.
