Ouch. Its not a good idea to run 26.2 miles when you haven't trained for it. I survived, though, with a little help from Dr. Steve Clark on a bicycle egging me on....I asked him if I was moving forward or backward, then I kicked it in and sprinted the final 200 yards, prompting a huge cheer from the observers near the finish line.
I showed the videotape, Understanding Asperger's, to my students in Abnormal Psychology. It elicited a terrific discussion about the importance of hope. Many felt that AS kids who have been chronic outsiders need to feel that there is hope that things will change. I'm not sure if they are right, since many AS'rs simply want the simple things that they are already getting in life (like a good DSL connection, etc).
