I've published a new story, Why XML? which details the sordid history of how XML came to be the preferred format in one particular instance. I've wanted to write this for a while, and now that it's done, I'm not terribly proud of it, but since it took so long to write, I'm posting it anyway.

Andy Oliver says "The trouble with XP is that its just the type of dogma that appeals to jerkoffs. And hence they want to letter of the law everything to the point where it has no meaning while violating its spirit."  That's the trouble with any methodology, I don't think it's a problem unique to XP.
