Microsoft Security Bulletins
From Tony Bradley, CISSP, Your Guide to Internet / Network Security.
netsecurity.about.com - Microsoft is ringing in the new year with three new Security Bulletins for January 2005. Two of them are ranked as critical and one is rated Important by Microsoft.
MS05-001 deals with a flaw in the HTML Help ActiveX control in Windows which could allow an attacker to execute programs on an affected system. If a user is logged on with administrative privileges, an attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of a vulnerable system. The attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new user accounts with full privileges.
