Novel antibody saves insulin cells in diabetics Reuters.uk - Short-term treatment with a new monoclonal antibody appears to preserve residual insulin production in patients with recent onset of type 1 diabetes, European investigators report. Some Yahoo Chat Rooms Shut After Firms Pull Ads Los Angeles Times, CA -  Yahoo Inc. has shut some Internet chat rooms after companies including PepsiCo Inc. and Georgia-Pacific Corp. pulled advertising, citing concerns that the sites were being used by adults to lure young children. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., Georgia-Pacific and Pepsi said they pulled certain ads after being informed by a Texas television news station that the ads were being displayed to users of chat rooms covering topics such as pedophilia. 9:09:52 AM

Canadian TV News Senator apologizes for supporting Homolka CTV, Canada - A Liberal senator who sat with Karla Homolka's defence team during a court hearing on June 3 has apologized.  Senator Michel Biron, 71, sat beside Homolka's lawyer in a show of support. At one point he even gave Homolka a slight smile, witnesses say. He later called Ontario's application to place restrictions on Homolka after her release from prison "unjustified."
